Spa Cycles Harrogate has moved

Went to Spa Cycles this morning and found that they had moved, the new address is 48a Camwal Road Harrogate it is right at the bottom of the road and there is a HUGE sign.

Here is it on google maps CLICK ME if you look in Street View mode where the sign saying CLAD saftey shop is look for this sign:

If you can imagine what a couple of warehouses look like with a shop front, now imagine you have just arrived the day after a company had just left but had just left everything lying around

Thanks for the heads up - I would have gone to Wedderburn Road and wondered where they were.

But Spa moving is almost unthinkable; it'd be like moving Stonehenge. It's been there forever and is a national institution!

Ah well you say that but I used to goto wedderburn & woodlands school which is just round the back and I remember when that shop was a sweet shop and we used to sneek out of school to get sweets.

Looks like a war zone, not very cycle friendly with all these vans likely to be reversing out of every available parking space.

Its not that bad and a lot easier to get down on a bike than in a car.

I think they are trying to get all their stuff under one roof so when people turn up they can see the spa cycles own brand bikes etc on display instead of having to ring to arrange a viewing.

I won't be doing any over the counter trade there, but do hope the post van can get out and in easily.

It should be a lot better for the mail order side as they now have warehouse space.

I have turned up at the other shop after 4pm before and not been able to get through the door for all the mail order stuff waiting to be collected.

I did a 220 km DIY audax from Manchester to Spa Cycles and back to Manchester. It took me over Ilkley Moor twice of what I dont recommend unless you have a mountain bike lol. Excellant day out with some serious hill climbs with some nice flat bits

I just loved the shop. the shop windows were filthy with muck and the display items in the window looked bleached from sunlight as they had been there so long. I only went to try a jacket on and had always wanted to see the place as I had heard so much about it.

I got my brevet card stamped at the shop and made my way back home via Ilkley and back over that moor lol. I never did buy that jacket !

Shame the shops gone
