Hi All

Just a quick one for my first post, I been reading everyone elses posts for a while and thought it was time to join the action.

I am doing the London to Brighton on sunday for the first time and to be honest, I dont want to get too caught up but unfortunately I have an 8 o clock start time

I was just wondering if anyone knows how strict they are with this, i.e if I turned up earlier would I be able to go earlier?!

Thanks for any help

Dave

They do tend to be fairly strict with start times (although 'apparently' it's not too difficult to slip around the side and get going when you want  )

The actual official start is a gated/fenced area, as is most of the route exiting London - the police can be very strict in not letting people join the route!!

From previous experiences, it's deffinalty best to go at your time..
But you can hang around a bit, and be one of the last to leave for your time, you get given a small map etc.. which you wouldn't get otherwise.

What ever time you leave you will hit traffic.. so going any later won't help

go when you want to, we did, they hand out medals blindly, no-ones going to check anything, promise, in hindsight I wish I'd set off far earlier than we did, the crowds are insane
