Sora Shifter (ST-3400)

Just a quick note, my right hand shifter has broken. The reason is a small (but broken) spring which keeps the ratchet mechanism under tension, to simple to be true really. Other than that the shifter is in very good condition but now completely useless.

Does anybody know if there are replacement springs on the market (I have virtually no hope for this).

Is this is an unlucky one off or is this a symptomatic Shimano Sora problem ?

TBH I have never tried to repair a Shimano shifter so even if you got one it may be difficult to actually dismantle the shifter and fit the new part.

However Shimano always seem to make provision for spare parts - whether they exist or not I don't know.

The best bet is to look for the part that you want on the tech docs and then google the correct part number.

Thanks, the problem is the tech doc is not detailed enough so the part (like most of the shifter) is not on it.
