sora front changer problem

Hi
I have a problem with the front sora changer, it moves freely when moving the front lever but does not make the usual click when moving across or down the gears so unable to ajust it when changing the rear gear, is it a front lever problem or the front changer, if it can be sorted how ?

If you are reasonably handy you can disconnect the cable at the front mech and see whether the shifter would now pull the requisite amount of cable along and click when you use your other hand to apply some tension to the cable. Separately you can push the front mech out while looking vertically from above to see whether it can move across adequately so that the outer ring is centred within the cage.

If the shifter can not ratchet you have an issue with the shifter. If the front mech can't go outboard adequately then the H limit screw needs to be loosened (i.e. turned counter-clockwise) until it does.

There can be other reasons, but more info (e.g. is it a double or triple, what front mech etc.) would help.
