Has anyone got an idea which other triple Front mechs will work with Sora 3400 shifters. As FD3400 mechs seem to be a bit like rocking horse poo and mine is past its best.
You'd hope any Shimano triple would, surely you set up the detented shift position on the middle ring, and then the derailleur end stops will deal with inner and outer location..

That is what I hoped, but the Deore one I've tried already, really does seem to be a compromise on all but the middle few of the cassette, I got it working but it's not 100%
As @chriscross1966 said: any Shimano triple road FD. Just beware that the FD-4403 (Tiagra) had a tendency to have a key knob break off (the spring tab failure problem). With a 9-speed drivetrain, I'm using a 105 version triple FD at present and have an Ultegra in the wings, in case a replacement is needed.
Worth a read for background knowledge: https://www.bandlbicycles.com/about/shimano-105-front-derailleur-9-speed-fd-5504-pg358.htm
Given the paucity of supply, I think a FD-2303 would do the business, even if it's designed for 3x7 and 3x8. You'll want to match the band on diameter, mind, or use a shim.

If you stick "shimano triple road front" into ebay a fair few come up, including various Sora ones if you want to keep the groupset matched (or is that just something i see with Campy fans?)
