Slightly embarassing (and walking into the butt of many jokes  ) but I had a health assesment yesterday. As per usual for the Vo2 test, they shaved my chest to stick on all the sensors but the fella was a bit zealous, shaving a large section down the middle of my chest that now looks red raw and is really sensitive and irritating. As it hasn't really soothed at all after 24 hrs I'm starting to think that it's gonna be really irritating when I get out for a spin tomorrow morning. Hopefully a nice soft base layer or cycling jersery will help but any tips for something to apply that will sooth it a little and protect from any chaffing when I'm out on the bike?

Embarassed but desperate!!

For after-shave treatment I use an allum block, this soothes and disinfects andy small cuts or bruises.

When I went in for a delicate op I also had to shave everything off, and I still do to this day.

Cheers all. Fortunately my Old Spice and Brut supplies ran dry in 1986  .

Despite covering the affected area in vaseline, it was itching like mad when I first put on my base layers and jersey this morning. However, it was no problem at all once I got going probably helped by the cold, soothing air when I set off early in the freezing fog this morning.

Any nice strong after shave lotion should do the trick, failing that nappy cream.

I used those for normal shaving but abandoned them because the alcohol content isn't nice to the skin. I only use balm, sometimes, and allum block straight after the shave.

As a laydee and a cyclist I shave my legs, but I have very sensitive skin that hates being shaved. To calm it down I use a medical-strength moisturizer called Unguentum M after shaving. Irritates a bit when it goes on but does calm things down.

Unguentum M is a tad greasy but *very* effective. It is basically a lanolin-free version of E45 cream. You could just try the E45 but I am allergic to lanolin, hence using the above.

May we see a picture of these legs, just for medical interest?
