Folks,
On the verge of spending my hard-earned on a Specialized Tricross Comp.

No-one other than the sales guy to 'discuss' with, so would really apppreciate some input.

Rides lovely (better than my 8 year old mtb, anyway). In all honestly, won't be giving it serious cyclocross abuse, but love the thought of the 'best of both worlds'

Cheers

Personally, I think there's a bit of marketing in there. I'd get a proper 'crosser, have a look at Kinesis or may be give Paul Milnes a ring.
Yes yes yes! - and this is my worry. The marketing wizadry has indeed worked its magic!

@epicurus - I'm going to say mild use (relatively). It's certainly not for racing, and as Dave eluded to, the marketing of this bike might has dragged me in.
I want something lighter than my current (old) Specialized Hardrock.
My riding on/off road is pretty much the same ratio as the C2C!
I need to be able to fit a rack for a bit of light touring, too.

Cheers for the help, fellas
Paul

OK. I like them, though they are a bit too road and a bit sluggish and not enough 'cross for me.

We bought a bottom -range Kinesis two years ago, the 4 T, and it's a great Road-Tourer (with full-on brazings) but tight enough (if a little heavy) to race. Only major change was swapping in a 34 chainset & ISO BB, as the 39 was too heavy for actual 'cross.

Just put a deposit on a Fuji cross bike at LBS.It's an old model (2007 I think). It's the only one I've looked at. I like the colour & the seat & the seat is randomly set up to exactly the same height as my roadbikes.Oh & I like & want to support LBS.Is this a rational action?

im new here y'all , any views on the 2009 CX 105 versions from cannondale and colnago ?

looking to use for commuting and short mountainous touring so any advice from owners of these would be well received.
