Some toilet seat advice please?

This toilet has a bowl where the fittings for the seat are hidden inside an enclosed moulded section with no access currently, without pulling all the panelling away from behind it there must be a way to fit a new seat, if not then it's a p poor design?

One of those silver discs is loose as the nut has fallen off the back of it, I'm hoping that there's some kind of expanding rawl plug type fastener that I can drop into there and anchor a new mount to, anyone else been in a similar position?

take the chrome bits off - you then will be able to see the screws that tighten the "bung" fittings

Yes, these are really common. Many new seats have the option of fitting entirely from above or using conventional nuts from below.

I noted the polished reflective back wall - presumably for inspection purposes?
