Solicitor changed agreed fees price, can you do anything?

Been watching this thread; Son no. 1 signed a conveyancing contract with what he thought was a solicitor but turned out to be a dodgy sales agent masquerading as a solicitor. I've reported them...

...to the dibble, I hope? Not many people realise it but its a criminal act to wilfully pretend to be a solicitor, or takes or uses any name, title, addition or description implying that he is, qualified or recognised by law as qualified to act as a solicitor

You need to read the small print on your “quote” before getting stroppy with your solicitor.

If Mr Sky accepted the services on the basis of the quote it is a binding contract.

If there that other fees may be involved, unforseen expenses, weasel words in the small print, etc, it is merely an estimate and it should be clearly desdribed as such and offered to the customer merely as a guide.
