That is good news, though it sounds like he still has a long way to go before he gets to a decision on whether he's going to make a professional return: Horrific accident.

I'm happy that he's made a decent recovery but I do hope that he doesn't race again. He used to fall off with alarming ease and it doesn't bear thinking about if he comes a cropper again.

Yep, great to see him making progress - and, like rich, I hope he decides he will not race again as for a climber he fell off with amazing regularity!

The reports of his health in the first few weeks after the crash were terrible. It sounded at the time like he might not survive, or if he did then he'd have severe problems to overcome. To get back on a bike just 8 months later is absolutely remarkable.

Good news to know he's recovering well but I share the view of others in hoping he doesn't try to get back into racing and have another fall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Climbers are just as bad at falling off as anyone. Columbians had to be avoided at all costs, ace fallers off, and not very good descenders, which considering their home terrain, is surprising.
If you want to see real scars in a peloton, go find the sprinters!!

likewise, I am so glad that Soller has pulled through and looks very much like he will have a chance to lead a normal life again-if his knowledge of the sport is intact then that and physical health will be enough for him to build some kind of future for himself in the sport. I hope he doesn't return to racing as he can't afford another bump on the head and really I would just be happy to walk away with a decent quality of life after staring death in the face like he has.
