These are for double chainsets.

A little wear to the levers and scratches to the name plate but nothing horrendous.

They work spot on.

Yes - there are 5 clicks on the big lever and 3 clicks on the paddle.

These are 5600 shifters, so one generation behind the current 105 (5700). If you look at the model number it should say 5600 or 5601. IIRC the 5600 shifter would work on triples or doubles, but if set up incorrectly with a double would allow the user to bust the shifter mechanism by over-shifting to the non-existent third ring. The 5601 was introduced to correct this and shifts only double chainsets. The 5603, funnily enough, shifts a triple.

I've heard - but this doesn't match my experience - that the externally routed gear cables provide smother shifting.

To clarify, Howard is correct- they are 5600's with double/treble left shifter.

The 6 settings are Ring, Trim, Ring, Trim, Ring,Trim - giving the 5 clicks.

For doubles you use the first 4 positions.
