Itching to get back on my bike's
- Location
- Northamptonshire
i bought this as a rolling frame set of Psyclist of this parish a couple of weeks ago purely because the frame has fantastic lugwork and now that i have ridden it quite a few times i am being honest with myself as i find it a shade on the small side for me .
see link below for when it was sold to me
http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/mercian-strada-speciale-not-complete-bike.131253/ since then i have added chopped down drops and stem , carbon tt levers and a great union jack saddle sorted out the loosening head set ! it a great bike that rides well i feel for my daily commute that its slightly undergeared . it would convert back to a geared bike very easily . see below for spec details
if you see the link below and go to bottom of page the pictures of the blue bike look to be the same .

its a 20 3/4" sized frame that has recentley been stripped back and re sprayed a nice cherry red colour and has been rebuilt with the following new bits (not by me) single speed 700 wheels with a flip flop hub on the rear so could run fixed gear if wanted . steel single crank set and matching cartridge style bottom bracket bearing , new campag veloce head set ,semi fluted alloy seat post & New Old Stock Shimano slx brake calipers . i have fitted the following set of parts ie chopped aloy handlebars , ASC Profile design carbon tt brake levers ,125mm Italmanubru (ITM) stem new brake cables inner & outer .
this is a fantastic frame with glorious lugwork just not 100% sure who made it . rides very well indeed and certainley is a quality frame
asking £205
bike is in NN8 Wellingborough post code
more details about the bike can be seen on this link http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/mercian-singlespeed-town-bike-build.123923/
