Recently bought my wife one of these lights primarily for use on the canal path on her way to work. When I get home last night she says the light is no longer working and it does indeed appear dead. I noticed the connector was a little loose but tightening up the light would still not come up. I connect the light unit to my magicshine battery instead and the light unit itself works.
My wife mentions she charged in only the day before. I plugged her battery into the charger (which I placed inside a metal tin) and within 10 minutes its showing as fully charged. Does anyone know if these units have some safety mechanism that can be tripped by water ingress into the connector?
I have since placed the battery into a food bad for better water protection and it was fine today. I notice the seller charges only £12 for a new battery which seems very cheap. I think that it might be sensible to buy a better quality battery from a more reputable supplier. Does anyone have any recommendations
