I went for a ride first thing this morning over the hills knowing i had to be back for 8am to open up the factory. Got right onto the tops and realised it had taken over an hour to get their and not even half way round the loop , so had to turn round and peddle like a idiot to get back , got back for 7.56 only to find the factory open and all the lights on as one of the bosses had decided to come in early.
I could have had a great ride through the lanes but ended up nearly killing myself to get back.

Console yourself in the knowledge that in the west of Scotland, just by way of a change, it is wet and windy today . Forecast for tomorrow is only slightly better, but if it DOES manage to stay dry for an hour or two, I will be under the car changing the oil and filter.

Whoa, 21st birthday! My granddaughter hasn't even got to 21 months and I now consider myself ancient. You couldn't miss it though.

If it's sunny tomorrow morning, grab the sunshine and record the game - it's far too early for rugby anyway

Is that a change from it being wet, windy and also cold per chance?!

I've managed a few 200 mile months over the summer. it started to drop last month, and in October I've managed a measly 85. Looking on the bright side, it's only four months until the prospect of slightly better weather will be on the horizon......

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Went out today for a spin, just 23.5 miles as hopefully its a club rub tomorrow, i was warm enough in ss jersey + shorts all except my toes which were telling me that mesh vent summer shoes should either have overshoes or be put away and the Lidl shoes used from now on.

You're in Wales so I wouldn't like to make any weather predictions

If it's any consolation, t'was lovely and sunny for this morning's club run :sun:

I think perversely the worse the weather, the more of a buzz i get out of the ride.(sometimes)

I feel it's more of a challenge, and have greater sense of achievement, just as well really considering where i stay ;)

You mean just like the weather we had THIS "summer"?

My mileage has fallen away too. Best month this year was July when I managed 800 (wasn't working) but started work again at the start of September. Between the inconvenience of that, and a leg muscle injury, I have so far in October done an 11 mile lap of Cumbrae. That is it . Was hoping to reach 5k miles by the end of the year, now it's looking as if I'll be lucky to get 4k....
