So I asked my boss out on Sunday....

Seemed the polite thing to do, given his new CX bike and all.

He said yes and came along, I went very steady (11 mph avg) 17 miles in 90 minutes

Now he's enrolled in spinning classes!

Sounds like a nice achievement there! At any rate, that matches my average nowadays.

Alas, my immediate boss (line manager) is never going to get on two wheels and got to accept that. He has chronic back and shoulder problems and is often in severe pain - it would be unkind to suggest it!

But our site MD - well he's a different story. 20 years younger than I am, long and lanky, he has recently switched from MTB to road and took delivery of a spanking new machine from Evans (delivered to the office, we watched him unwrap it). He would leave me standing! Pity he doesn't commute though - but, then, he's the boss, he puts in long hours, and it would be a long way for him.
