Snow to end soon?

Decided to go for it and bought some Nokian A10s. With the train not running in this weather its taking me an extra 30 mins to commute in on the bus+tube+tube (and Im missing out on my exercise).

Don't feel confident riding on my normal tyres at the moment even though the main roads seem well gritted. The A10s are suppose to be a little lower rolling resistance than typical studded tyres (only have 72 studs) and I will be putting them on the wifes hybrid which she hardly uses.

It may be that theres no more snow this winter after they arrive in the post. That would be good news and I'll have them for next year.

Me too, i live down one of them shared private drives with 4 houses on it.

Guess who is the only person to have bothered to clear any of the 6" of snow...................

I think we'll be OK for snow for a while yet in South Cumbria. It's snowing again today and I think that maybe the 7th consecutive day with snow fall. There's been a nice amount of sun in between times, so people who did clear drives and pavements have been rewarded with dry and ice-free surfaces.

Mind you, now I've put the knobblies on the mtb I actively search out untreated roads and tracks - much more pleasant than filthy, salty treated roads


I happened to be in Helsinki last week when they had their first snow fall of any significance in the city - I have to say there was quite a bit of late/non-arrival at work despite Finns and Scandinavians always saying how great they are when the snow arrives
