Snare drum in my wheel

I've looked for an answer to this on the internet but to no avail but wondered if anyone had any thoughts...

I'm fairly sure a noise on my road bike is coming from the front wheel. It's like a quiet vibration noise that I'd liken to a small snare drum that happens when I go around corners or over bumps also if I bounce the front wheel. I initially assumed head set bearings but have checked tension. Wheel is true and I can't feel any movement in the bearings. Bike has only done 200 miles so wouldn't have expected anything to have worn out! Any thoughts greatly appreciated :-) matt

Has Frank Zappa been anywhere near your bike?

Bin those nuts! You don't need them and you'll save .001 of a gram. :-)

That is really showing your age

Mind you I must be showing my age because I understood that

haha very funny.

After removing the lock nut and dust cap, although I feel like a much more serious cyclist, the noise is still with me.

I've checked spokes can't see any cables which could be causing this - the wheel doesn't have to move much i.e. turning slightly while freewheeling or pedalling and wobbling slightly.

Would wheel bearings cause this? I can't feel any play in the wheel.
