Ive snapped two spokes over the last two runs ive done on my giant defy composite with the p-sl1 wheels, thye have only done around 200miles and i wouldnt expect this to happen. The spokes seem to have snapped on the threaded part within the spoke nipple. Ive checked the spec of the wheels and there doesnt seem to be any weight limits although im only 14st.

Any thoughts or suggestions. Im taking the wheel back this avo to see what the lbs say.

I'd be the last person to recommend a wheelset with 18/24 spokes....
I prefer "proper" wheels with 32 or even 36 spokes - preferably ones I've built myself.

But - 200 miles ? get them replaced under warranty, not repaired, insist on replacement. There is summat wrong with the buid quality if they snap two spokes in such a short time.

Mavic use low spoke counts. I'd not be happy with Giants own wheels snapping spokes. The thread end is rare, they usually snap at the hub

Wheel is still with Giant, expecting a replacement wheel soon. Decided to get myself a new set of wheels as i had no confidence that the same problem wouldnt occur. So i took a trip to Wheelcraft and have decided on a new set of 105 hubs, mavic open pro cd rims, 36 rear, 32 front. Should get them this week
