snapped chain

hypothetical at the moment..and building up my saddle tool kit so would like to be prepared if it happened


what would I need to get me home if my chain snapped out on a ride


my current chain is a Shimano 105 CN-5701 106 links

cheers...what would the chain tool be?..when googled they look more like a workshop item

also..as its only one link does it matter what speed it is..I see they vary from 7 to 10 speed...although I do have a 10 speed

The repair link has to be the correct one for a tenspeed.

Depending on where the break is, you will probably need the chain tool to remove a pin or half a link that is broken, in order to fit the powerlink
