Just had my first serious didn't see u incident...

More a failure of a motorist to stop at a roundabout.

Really ruins the feel of a ride when u bounce off a car half way through and spill around in the road. Maybe the xmas weight came in handy there!

It feels like a rather sad right of passage. Like ur first spd moment, but less comic.

To be fair they did stop.

Aggh, I trust you are OK?

If your front wheel hit the car ... check where the crossbar meets the front stem.
Any sign of paint cracking = bent frame (and shorter wheelbase so your pedals will be kicking the front tyre).

Me and the trusty steed are ok.

Bit of a buckle in the front wheel, can't see any paint cracking, but ill get that checked at the lbs. Thanks for the advice on that.

Does that have to a high speed impact to do that to the frame? Neither of us were moving particulary quickly. My speedo was reading about 12 think he couldn't have been doing more that about twenty.

It was a bit of a glancing side swipe really.

I had the same as my first just before xmas. Bent top tube, head tube and down tube, done in a shifter and buckled the front wheel. It didn't look too bad at first, but when the lbs checked the frame properly they found the bent tubes. I had only been riding it 4 weeks after fully restoring the frame (Dave Quinn 531) and wheels. Not happy...
