Well had a great 12 miler easy MTB ride with the wife and kids today.
Gronant to Prestatyn to Dyserth to Gwaenesgor and back to Gronant. Easy cyclepaths and old disused railway line, bit of main road and finishing on lovely little bridleway.
Literally in the final few metres of the ride we nearly got swiped by a Sorry Mate I Did See You I'm just to stupid to understand how to drive!
Came along the main road with a car coming up behind us as we turned left. Went down the hill with the car following us and then slowly overtaking. Then as we are starting to cross a junction the car, which was alongside me at the time starts turning left!!!
Only a slow speed accident, I ended up kicking his wing as a warning and then lying against his bonnet. I felt that if I didn't do something like that then he was going to run me and my lads over!
He shouts at me: "What do you think you're doing?"
So I reply: "Getting knocked off my bike by a stupid idiot who doesn't know how to drive!"
I thumped his bonnet again for effect and cycled home!
Bloody idiot without any sense at all. There's four of us on bikes, none of us signalling so we had to be continuing along the road without turning off. What did he expect to happen if he turned left!
No harm done to me or my bike but hopefully he'll switch his brain on before he gets in a car next time!
