the smart is what? £10?

what you seem to lose with cheaper lights is the quality of the mounting, ie the smart's tendency to eject on bumps

I have just ordered one of these same thoughts can't go far wrong for the price, as long as it arrives. I know it won't be as bright as claimed and will eat batteries but hey for less than £6 why not.

These are excellant front lights, I havent fitted the back one yet. But it looks good enough as a reserve rear light.
Btw dont be put off buying from these people, they deliver quite quickly.

What sort of battery life do you get? I estimated a 5watt led with 3 aaa batteries would be an hour to an hour and a half. My commute is only half an hour long so not a major issue though.

I bought a Smart copy for about £7 last year but it was a white front light. Its by a company called Torch and to all looks and purposes its exactly the same light. The design must either be contracted out to other firms or have been ripped off.

Right now I'm running exposure Race with Redeye, plus a Knog on the seat tube on flash. When it gets darker I'll use the Hope 1 on the front with the exposure.

The two AAAs on my Smart will need replacing soon enough. I've had them in over a year, though, and I worked out that I've done at least 70 hours on those batteries. I do sometimes use it on flash as I have another one on my bag which I sometimes use on constant, but I'm still pretty impressed with the low usage.

Been running one for a while, not the same quality as a Smart but not bad. Ordered 4, 3 worked OK, one knackered. Very nearly as bright but also has different flashing patterns, useful if you run several rears

If it works out that good i will be happy, might order another one pay day and have one on each pannier + superflash on the seat post.

I've just bought one to try as an alternative to the superflash & my 'favourite' DX back ligh ( http://www.dealextre...ils.dx/sku.3639 ).

Whilst it scores well enough on brightness, I'm interested in how it copes with water ingress which is the biggest issue I have with back lights.

Got one and it has fell off the mount twice on very bad roads, it has a little rubber seal thats seems to be ok and as i have it mounted on the seat post it never gets a full soak and has worked fine apart from dropping off .The reflector does not do much but its better than none(mine got lost last time it fell off so i just use it as a standard flasher )

Light came a few days ago and after a direct comparison i can say it is very close to a smart superflash, certainly worth running it along side the smart.
