A small point, the law is that that lights can flash at up to a maximum of 4 times a second. Some of these lights don't comply.

I'd be surprised if anyone would get done though.
And, at the other end, I think that the flash should be at least 1hz but the pulse mode must take 6-8 seconds to flash.

Thank you very much for all the comments and input and I reckon initially I was overpowered with the choice and options, I had been thinking ooohhh disco and pulse (others call it 'throb' and bloody good description that is) but now that I have been out and using it I also checked the feedback here and went with 3. Flashing! A few have commented about disco and possibly legal about flash rate - and again the options are tempting but all I want is to be noticed and I think it's 3. for me.
I do reckon we live in an age where there's so much choice available - we're concrete consumer machines like it or not but jeeeyz, everythign does get complicated at times. I like simple and effective, robust and effective. function over asthetics etc. but great lights - the choice is always good but sometimes I'm a luddite and stick to what I know.
Thanks again!

The Lunar R1 (1w type LED) only seems to last about 10 hours on constant with a set of 2 NiMH 1100mAh AAAs. (Suggesting it's being run at no more than 300mW input).

Im not sure which modes to use or where yet. I have 2 of them low down seat stays angled very slightly down so they arent so blindingly bright up close but still very good at range, paired with a cateye L1100.

Sometimes ill have them both on double static with the cateye flashing, sometimes the inverse. For quieter roads/lesuire routes ill sometimes just put them on single and turn the cateye off. Im not a fan of disco as i cant help thinking one mode must always be more appropriate to the situation than random flickering/pulsing. Only time it tempts me is as a random daytime mode to get attention.
