I think that is a very inaccurate description and said so as I saw a poster when I left the cinema (did not see it beforehand). It has elements to feel good about but the term "feelgood". That makes it sound like "Love Actually" where minor nasty things happen leading up to a lovely ending. In this film there is a much more explosive blend of nice annd nasty.

Saw it on Saturday.

Serves as a very good advert for India - really - even though some bits are rather unpleasant and sad. The colour, the cinematography really is first class and is a reason by and of itself to see it (I'm reckoning the cinematographer is a shoe-in for the oscar in any decent world). The story I was moderately satisfied with...it sails a bit too close to cliche for my liking. The performances were (isn't this always the case?) by a long way the best by the little children as opposed to the grown ups and the music (most of it by M.I.A) was in your face and I felt jarred a little with the film really. Maybe that was the point, I don't know. Anyway, certainly worth seeing without a doubt but a little overpraised, methinks.

Was supposed to be seeing it last night but it didn't quite happen so have rearranged for Wednesday. I'm really looking forward to it.

Can I take my 9 y.o. son to see it?
No. It is a 15, and I would not think it suitable for a 9 yr old
