I have a Focus Cayo 2. Over the months I have noticed that the front mech goes out of alignment very quickly (after a couple of rides). It's hardly rocket science so i investigated and eventually concluded that the cable adjuster (which sits in the frame) works lose. This is easily fixed on the move so not a huge problem.

It is annoying though and seems to slip all the time now and I was thinking of replacing it. I have never worked with internal cables and have read a few threads that suggest problems are possible for the unwary and unskilled.

Three questions:

has anyone else had this problem?
is replacing the adjuster the right solution?
is replacing the cables fairly straightforward?

Thanks.

Is it not simply that the adjuster has been screwed too far out and it no longer is sitting in the frame properly? Slack the cable off and have a look

Front mech cables should rarely need adjusting and lots of bikes don't have an adjuster for the front shifter. I'd screw the adjuster all the way in and re-clamp the cable with the chain on the small chainring, ensuring that the shifting works ok.
