Just pump your tyres up properly and check regularly for embedded sharps!

okay but if I go over a nail or thorn or some other road debris its going to puncture a tyre weather its pumped up or not. I'm not argueing its a factor but for the sake of 6 quid for a can of slime it might just be worth it.....

I use marathon plus, but don't use the slime. In my non expert opinion, a properly inflated marathon plus is enough
thanks for the constructive advice!

Once somebody has decided they want sludge in their agricultural rubber there is no changing their minds Rob.

M+ tyres are sufficiently puncture-resistant to make adding slime a waste of money.
I speak as someone who hasn't had a puncture using M+ in over 24,000 miles.

I can also recommend the Lidl copy of the M+ which is substantially cheaper at just £9.99 per tyre (and that's a foldable tyre).
I've been using a pair since October 13 and they're excellent.

Then you still haven't prevented it. Might as well carry a spare tube

I use Stans in my tubeless. In fact I would imagine most would not get a tubeless to seal without a sealant, come to thing of it that is what a sealant does, seal.

If I was racing I would not use it on the road bike, but certainly would on the MTB. Training bike, sealant all the way, unless of course you want to go the Robert Millar way, tubes inside clinchers.

Sealant stops a lot of small punctures, the only people I have found that do not agree with this have never used it.
That's the point isn't it? If all you ever get is small punctures you might be alright. When I've had punctures, I can't recall choosing how big they were, there is a point where no slime will help at all. Talk up the benefits all you like, the downsides are equally worth considering..
