SKS Rennkompressor Track Pump

Anyone got one of these? Mine has just been a bad experience since the day I bought it in July last year. The head attachment is rubbish for presta as you just push it on with no clamp lever, consequently when the pressue starts to build it blows off. The new ones on the SKS site have the more sensible lever to lock the head on. Not only that but the other day it started to leak air from the bottom of the hose so it's about as much use as a chocolate fireguard .
I've emailed Wiggle where I bought it and SKS. Wondered if anyone knew anything about guarantees with this pump or has experienced the same problems that I have.

You would think so wouldn't you?. The crazy thing is that this pump scored the most highly in the Cycling Plus test, yet the design fault is an obvious one. They [SKS] must think so too, why else change the bit that is giving so much trouble in the latest reincarnation.
I will post their reply if I get one as SKS make very popular mudguards too.

I bought one over 20 years ago and its done daily service ever since, but, although the head worked, it was always tricky to get on. I recently replaced the hose and head with the Topeak TwinHead upgrade kit, which is a fantastic quality piece of kit and a joy to use. C+ tested the SKS again fairly recently and it wasn't scoring so highly this time. I'm sure Wiggle will resolve it - their returns and warranty returns attitude is second to none, I've found.

Send a mail off to SKS, i would almost bet money that they will offer you a replacement head for your pump without hesitation

Update. You were right, it took a few days before they replied but have offered me a free replacement. Wiggle just sent me a stock reply about their returnable goods policy and to send the pump back to them [tricky to pack and expensive] despite getting an email from me explaining the problem.

In fairness to Wiggle, they do refund postage costs on returned goods that have failed - a human actually looks at the parcel and reimburses what you spent! I appreciate you don't get reimbursed for the hassle ...
