SKS Race Blade prorectors

I have a set of race blade mudguards on my old bike and want to use them on my new bike. I am however struggling to find the protective stickers that stop the paint work being damaged. Any ideas anyone.

On my old bike they lifted the paint a bit so I need something strong but gentle( sounds like a toilet paper ad).

Try electrical tape. Never tried it myself for this use, but it's a staple of my toolkit and is useful for all sorts of things.

Thanks for that. Good idea. Just realised my new tyres are 700x25c and my old blades are for the 700x23c so I've bought new blades to fit.

was gonna suggest getting some lizard skin patches

Thanks JohhnyH. I have bought some to use instead of the patches that come with the mudguards. My new bike cost a few quid(well to me anyways) so I don't want the paint lifted on that.

I cut up an old inner tube to wrap the stays before putting the blades on...

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm! Not a bad idea at all. Won't stick to the paint then either.
