SKS Bluemels Mudguards and Boardman CX

I've had a set of these mudguards for over a year in the shed and decided to fit them today. I assembled the front and went to fit it only to find it was a no goer. The disc mechanism got in the way of attaching the guard to the wheel. Which guards do I need for this bike or is there a solution to my little problem with the same guards?

You need to bend the stay to make them fit, I'll try to find a pic of mine

On the two pairs of SKS guards I've fitted I've used a long bolt with extra nuts to lock the stay in a position just outside of the caliper mechanism.
