sorry 2nd post here tonight, i see alot of skinwall tyres being used for rougher stages in racing do they have a function or is it just cosmetic?

cosmetic, although if you are referring to the FMB or Dugast tubs that the pro teams tend to use for cobbled events, then that is just a factor of how they are made.
