Hi guys

I have bought a bike off a friend so don't know what size it is, I thinks it's a medium but what does a medium bike equate into cm?

I am 5"9 with a 31 inch leg so not sure what size of bike to get if its calculated on cm.

Any help much appreciated

PS it's a CX bike I'm looking at

Means pretty much nothing really. There is no universal standard across manufacturers.

Can you have a look on the manufacturers website?

I am about the same height as you, one road bike is a 54cm, one a medium wsd roadbike, one a medium hybrid. Lot of seat post on the bikes but would be overstretched if bigger.

What bike are you looking at? Go sit on it and see how it feels. I would personally avoid a bike that is too big from bitter experience

Hi Vickster

The bike im thinking of is not available in Edinburgh, suppose if I do buy one online and it doesnt fit just send it back, bit of a hassle but not overly chaotic.

Measure the seat tube from centre of BB to the top of the seat tube excluding the seat post, this will give the bike size.
This is just guide

Its only £650 at Tredz.

Think they are too big/small but def go and have a look. Was going to go there and get some new tyres anyway so kill two birds with one stone.

Yeah, 6 weeks service free is maybe worth the extra £50. Need to do a bit of hunting about. Evans and EBC are close to each other so maybe take the bike out and hit both shops. Some nice Focus CX there as well. I feel like a kid in a sweet shop.

Evans can be a bit hit and miss, see what vibe you get from the guys in store

Evans match is pretty easy peasy on stuff, not sure on bikes

I think the aftersales and troubleshooting alone are worth £50

I went down to Evans just for a browse and was in the shop about 20 mins and not one sales person approached me so wasnt very impressed but would still go as they have a good sized store.

That is pretty poor, but I guess if they had customers who were buying...or go on a quiet weekday when they'll be happy to help:smile:
