Hi , I am after some advise as not had a bike for ages ,

I am about to buy the Dawes Discovery 401 Hybrid bike ,but am undecided wether to go for the 22" or the 20" , this model has a suspension seat post (don't know if that affects choice). Looking at pictures the top rail seems to rise as it goes to the handel bars .
I am 6'3 tall with and inside leg or 33" , any advice would be greatly received

I have not got any retailers near me to go and sit in one so have to order it online.

thanks

Mark

Theres a rough guide on the linked page http://www.tredz.co.uk/SizingGuides.asp#variations

The only problem is that with the advent of sloping top-tubes the length of that tube varies from bike to bike so you would be advised to try to sit on one first.

Could you measure your inside leg again. 56% Sitting Height Ratio is a tad BIG!
Randochap's method will give you a better value.
The 'Pile of Cycling Weekly' method will be even better.

Remeasured and inside leg is 33" , I may now go for a Halcyon bike which comes in 19" , 21" and 23" frame sizes ,so still not sure

Have a look at the video and download on bike fitting here

It will give you some good pointers. Check out in particular the top tube length as well as the seat tube.
