I have a hybrid cycle and despite doing well over 150 miles on it and changed the stock saddle I feel like I am sitting more on my perineum than my butt. Will moving the saddle forward or backward solve this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Get someone to take a picture of you on the bike and post it here.

Check if the saddle is tilted forward, i.e. is lower at the front than the rear. Ideally, the saddle should be horizontal, to stop you slipping forward on it.

As Victor's ^^^ post suggests, what seem to be completely insignificant saddle angle changes can alter the whole feel of the bike. And will probably make more of a difference than changing the fore-or-aft position. That's usually more the fine tuning part.
