Sit bones and position on saddle

Hi guys,

I've been having a problem with seating position.

I need some advice on where I should be perched in relation to the sit bones and the saddle.
At the moment if i am reasonably comfortable, it feels like I am sitting near the rear edge of the seat.
I have the seat level ( i think) in the correct way. The section above the halfway mark on the scale upto the y on alloy is level.

I find that if i sit slightly further forward i it feels like i am sitting on a ridge.

From what I understand of bike fit, having your sit bones near the rear of the seat is the correct position, and having the upper surface of the seat horizontal is also correct. If for some reason you ever find yourself sliding forward on the seat so you're sitting on the ridge, then other bike fit factors may be involved, e.g. seat is too far back, handlebar stem angle is wrong, etc. In other words, you're sitting in the correct position. Others on these fora may correct me on this, though .

I'm not sliding forward, just felt i was sitting too far back.
I see most riders have some saddle poking out the back. I guess I'm not seeing my own so cant tell fully.
I think i will have to try tweaking a little more. I'm still not fully happy with position, but any help always helps

Thank you

I move about on the saddle and don't sit in one place all the time. If I am pushing it abit I tend to sit on the nose and when taking it easy sit further back in the saddle. I have six bikes and six saddles of different makes of which all perform in their own ways......no easy answer

yes you should be sitting on the rear (wider) part of the saddle. if you feel like your sitting too far from the handle bars you need to move your seat forward. the reason you can't see your saddle from the back might be the same reason i can't see mine... coz my ass is too fat LOL

Seriously... just sit where its comfortable, thats the right place.
