So energy vs electrolyte?

I have always used the electrolyte one as I brought the small barrel thing of it. But looking at what was in the draw and I came across these.

What are the benefits of one vs the other?

Electrolytes don't give you energy they are basically salts. Good as part of keeping hydrated and some say warding off cramps. The energy one will be full of easily absorbed carbs (simple sugars) I rarely use energy gels or drinks unless I am in a situation where I need energy fast e.g. a long race or a hard hilly ride with no cake stops. TBH though normal day to day riding a banana or a stop for a snack is probably all you need . I quite often chuck an electrolyte tab into a bottle before a medium length training ride. I don't know how much benefit it has over water or low cal squash, but it adds a bit of flavour.

I tend to stick an electrolyte tab into a water bottle rather than squash on warmer days due to try and help counteract the extra sweat you'd produce.

Many moons ago I have tried both - I have always assumed that Im not enough of an athlete to get much benefit out of them - more a slow slogging sort of tourist - when Ive felt that ive needed some additives a packet of crisps, a banana and a bottle of coke sorts me out

As long as I breathe, I attack.
If im on a long hard ride i get cramps if i use just energy , high5 advise chucking a no cal electrolyte tab in with their energy powder i found out afterwards.

Specifically relating to the products- rather important here, you don't want to be misdirected by the terminology:
Energy= carbs, no electrolyte.
Electrolyte: Carbs (36g per serving as opposed to about 50g in Energy) and electrolytes.
SIS themselves say. "As part of your carbohydrate loading strategy, consume up to 4 servings per day with or between meals to help achieve elevated carbohydrate intake. SiS GO Energy can also be consumed with SiS GO Energy bars to further boost carbohydrate intake. To provide both optimal energy and hydration during exercise, SiS GO Electrolyte is superior to SiS GO Energy".

Good call dude, Go Electrolyte is much better to take out on a ride, especially with it being so hot now

You'd think both the above were true, but in fact if you look on the sis website, the only reason that Energy has more carbs is the serving size is larger, and the electrolyte unexpectedly has more sugar than the energy. The energy has no salts at all.

If I were the original poster, I'd use whichever I had, adding a pinch of salt to the energy if I felt I needed it.
