Wondering if there’s some info and experience of Simplex Super LJ front derailleurs.
I picked up a very cheap badly painted Bianchi 28 Lusso, it’s a complete mis-mash of parts, a decent enough shimano 1051 crankset rear mech and shifters and some very modern tektro brake calipers, but it came with a Simplex Super LJ gold front derailleur which doesn’t match anything else on the bike and from googling seems to be quite a top quality part for the time.
I’ve never had any simplex parts on my vintage rebuilds as I’ve generally gravitated towards Suntour.
Did the simplex super LJ gold come on any bikes from factory or were they built components. Is peoples experience of them positive?
Any info or experience gratefully received.

It could be this one, model SLJ A500, from the Simplex 1977 catalogue. Described as "Top Luxury Pro. Racing Front Changer". Definitely worth keeping.

We have quite a lot of Simplex material in the Veteran-Cycle Club online library available to members.

Had some Simplex stuff pass through my hands over the years. All of it has been of high quality, I ran Retrofriction shifters for a while, nothing but praise.
