I recently bought a Simplex chain guard intended for use with a front derailleur (apparently) from eBay for my 1979 Peugeot UE8M. Well, I was trying to fit it the other day and found that I couldn't due to the strange nature of one of the brackets on the guard... The bracket in question seemed to be so the guard could attach to the front derailleur mechanism, but it seems to be angled the wrong way, so it instead just gets in the way of the derailleur.
I was just wondering if I was being a bit dim and trying to fit it wrong, or (if it's just how the chain guard is) if anyone had any suggestions on how I could possibly attach it??
