Apologies in advance for a potentially dumb question. ;)

I have a track pump which I use to inflate tyres with tubes fitted with Schraeder valves. The head of the inflator locks onto the valve and it works very well.

I'm assuming this won't fit onto a Presta type valve, or is there some kind of adaptor available, or do I just need another pump altogether?

If its a smart head it will fit both.

Mine is double sided so it fits presta and schrader.

Otherwise im not sure about an adaptor, you may need another pump in which case I would recommend getting one of the above

Depends on your pump. Some have heads that work on both without adjustment, some have heads with a reversible rubber bit inside that you flip depending on valve type, some have separate holes for the two valve typres, some work only for one type.

Google your pump and find out which you have.

On some pumps (not all) you can reverse the rubber washer insert on the pump so it fits either type of valve, you need to unscrew the end of the valve attachment on the end of the hose to take out the washer and flip it over. Or you can get as mentioned a little brass adaptor. I got one when i bought an oldschool flexible adapter from Decathlon couple of quid if i remember.

If it doesn't fit then you can get a little converter that screws into the pump. I just got one today for 97p from my LBS, so they are not that expensive
