Fearful for my life, in such an event - I have played it safe and gone for the Medium (60 mile) option. That's my ideal riding distance anyway, so it makes sense.

Not sure what to expect really but I have been thinking about doing one for ages now and the Evans Ride IT ones seem more affordable, than some others. Does this mean I have to start training for it now?

I would be interested to hear from anybody who has done any of the Evans ones, in particular the Dorking ride.

Cheers,
SD

You can change your mind on the day, just tell the organizers which route you want to do. I think you can even change your mind mid-route, and just tell them that's what you did when you finished.

I have done the Dorking Ride It last year, it was pretty straightforward with no more than about 3000ft of climbing on the 60, and about 4500 on the 90. They're sure to include the newly resurfaced Box Hill, so you can enjoy that just ahead of the Olympic race.

Okay, cheers. Will have to see how I get on. Not overly fussed about time to complete, although I am expecting to go around at something like 15mph rolling avg.

Vamp - were the trains in to and out of Dorking jam-packed with cyclists, do you recall? Worst case, I could ride there and back but it would add a bit of mileage to the day. What was the organisation like and food stops? :hungry:
