Definitely, I would rather be concentrating on the road/junction ahead than thinking about flipping a switch correctly

Yes, and it also reminded me of a thread I was reading earlier about drivers not indicating appropriately.
With this bag I can imagine some people on bikes signalling left and going right, or leaving the signal on and creating quite a bit of confusion...

Bloody hell its not that had to work, its got a switch that flicks left or right. How hards that?

It's not (unless you are tech allergic), but how hard is it for some to turn their indicators on and off in the car..?
Yet we still see silly things happening or even things not happening with indicators on cars...

You just can't account for people, they can do some really unexpected things.

A car hitting another car due to poor signalling is one thing, but a car hitting a cyclist indicating the wrong way could be far worse, and I wonder how much mitigation something like this could bring..? (maybe not now, but in the future?)

If it had a feature that cut the blinkers off after a few yards it would be a good idea to eliminate the possibility of someone leaving them on for mile after mile. My ancient Yamaha has self cancelling blinkers after 150 yards.

All the "hearts" and "sorry" nonsense wouldn't interest me personally though.

Interesting idea.
