Today I saw a recumbent that looked like a full size bike with the seat reclined.
What I mean is the two wheels were the same size, definetly both 700cc.
The rider was very high up, there was no flag.

Yeah, they're quite popular these days. :okay:

They are often a bit lighter, the larger tyres can give reduced rolling resistance and - the biggie - they are reckoned to be able to climb better. Easier to see over the hedges and chat to DF riders too - though only uphill/ on the flat because they are still quicker downhill ! :wahhey: Downside is that you need longer legs to reach the ground ... sorry @Pat "5mph" - might not be the best for you.

Something like this or this

I didnt get along with the Bachetta Giro. I didnt like the way my feet were always stuck up in the air. If I got another one itvwould be a low rider.

I keep seeing a blue one like the one posted by @steveindenmark but only if I'm slightly early, and our paths only coincide for about 200m, he seems to work at the MOD.

But on Tuesday I saw a one of ones with a complete fairing or whatever they are called, yellow and low to the ground! I did turn my head to follow him as he passed! The sort of thing you would love to try out!

A Velomobile  - a fully enclosed trike. Obviously a bit heavier than the unfaired version but, while slower uphill, very much faster downhill and along the flat at anything over about 20kph. While better into a headwind (aerodynamics) and lively in a strong 90* crosswind, they gain with a 45* headwind - the fairing acting like one of @steveindenmark's sails, so giving improved forward motion ...

Mind you, they cost about the same as a small car ...
