Numpty question follows ...

I have a secondhand bybrid courtesy of t'interweb. A Giant expression DX '09 (hybrid, front suspension, but with all the accessories). On the whole I;m pleased with it, certainly most of the problems are due to the numpty sitting on it and not the bike. The only assembly I had to do was turn the handlebars and attach the pedals both of which seemed in my capability.

Now while cycling there seems to be a creaking coming from the front forks, handlebars, somewhere, OK it's a fairly steep hillout of the village but nonethless should I expect that? Is it something too tight, something straining, just one of those things ... ?

Try riding with only the lightest pressure on the bars to see if it goes away. If it does, try tightening the clamp that holds the bars to the stem.

Failing that, tighten the bolt that holds your saddle to the seat post. Really.
