I have been lucky enough to buy a 1983 Raleigh Clubman 531.
Campag 12 spd. I have the receipt, hand book, combination spanner, Allen key, pass certificate. It is in mint condition. Only done 100 miles. All original including tyres. Just been in a spare bedroom for 40 years. Should I ride it? It seems too nice to ride and wear out parts, but too nice to not ride. Any idea how I can find out what it is worth?

Great stuff! You've done well so I've attached an extract from the 1983 catalogue. Ride it.

That sounds like a good find .
Tough decision that surely depends on whether you are going to keep it and use it ?
Oh and we need pictures

If you want to find out how much it's worth look on eBay for similar. Won't be worth much, maybe a week's shopping at Tesco's, but with history and condition it'll be a joy forever.

Replace those those tyres before riding as they'll be perished.

I did look on ebay, but it's better than any I could find because it just hasn't been used.

But at the end of the day it's forty year old steel Raleigh . Unless there's a particular individual who wants you gonna be out of luck.
Did you buy it to sell?

I bought it to keep, couldn't resist it, neighbours house clearance. I love it, but it is slightly too small for me, but I think I can get away with it.
