As per the title, I have a dilemma.
I have 3 pairs of shoes sat in my kitchen all ordered from CRC so I could choose the right size from 46, 47 & 48.
Knowing full well that Shimano sizing is a bit, shall we say, imaginative I originally ordered 47 & 48 as this is what my existing 2 pairs of Shimano shoes are and they both fit ok. My feet are a UK 10.5 so should be Eu46 according to Shimano's own size chart but my current shoes are sized at 11.5 & 12 on the same chart (incidentally, independent size charts say I should be a 45).
The 48 is too big. The 47 is ok'ish with thick socks but I do like a close fitting shoe so, given that most shoes give a little once in use, I decided these might also prove to be too big once I have owned them a while. I have now ordered the 46 and unsurprisingly this is bordering on almost too snug with the thick socks but close to perfect with summer socks. If this size does indeed stretch/give/adapt (call it what you will) then they will be my perfect shoe but, at almost £95 a pair this would be an expensive mistake if they don't.
Does anyone have experience of this shoe?
Shimano MT71
Will it stretch and give after being used? I think the sizing is definitely dictated by Vibram, the sole manufacturer, as it seems to be closer to real world shoe sizing than any other Shimano shoe I have ever tried and feels superb when just walking around the house, almost like a normal shoe but a bit stiffer.
