They use the 3 bolt system which means that any road pedal/cleat will do: SPD-SL, Look Keo, Time RXS, Speedplay Zero (my favourite). The shoe is not compatible with the 2 bolt SPD system (or Egg Beaters, Speedplay Frogs etc.).

As a guide, anything on this page will fit.

Except these:.....
Shimano PD A520 Touring Pedals

I had a pair of Gaerne's in the 90's and have just chucked them out - so they last well!

Not too sure on their current sizing though - my 8 uk's were a little tight for me whereas my current Diadora 8's are just perfect.

Hi all

Thanks for the info. I'll have a shufty around for a pedal/cleat bargain....

As regards the sizing, they only have the next size up anyhow, so that might be perfect. I don't suppose you know if they are a narrow fit, do you? If they are then I'm buggered as I have seal flippers in place of feet

OOh, and I think these appeared on your suggested page:

but just to be sure.......

Would these be a good partner?

Much appreciated, Andy

The pedals are a good entry level bit of kit - I presume that cleats come with the pedals (you want yellow ones as they have a degree of float and are therefore a bit more comfortable).

If you have "fat" feet you may have a bit of a problem as most road shoes are pretty narrow in fitting - especially Shimano. You can chance it or preferably try a pair on at a local shop and then buy over the internet.

Cheers AP

I know that trying some on would be best bet, but the lbs's around here are shite. No chance of even seeing a road-shoe, let alone trying one on. I've taken a bit of a chance and ordered anyway. I figured that in the event (probably quite likely) that they don't fit then I shall just ebay 'em. At the price I've paid I probably wouldn't take too much of a hit.......... In theory.

Cheers, Andy
