Hello all,
I just bought a full suspension bike in almost mint condition but the rear shock seems to scratch when pressure is applied ... could this be due to the very minimal use of the shock (such as a break in period) or is this something more serious.
Thanks.

I take it the shock is clean? A dab of silicon spray might also help. They're easy to strip and service, and need it every 100 riding hours or so.

Yeah the shock looks clean, will any silicone spray do ?
Also if this doesn't help, what should be my next plan ?
Thanks again.

Any should do. If its the shock rubbing on itself then a strip and look-see is on the cards.
Okay, thanks for the advice !! I'll try some silicone spray! Should I just put the spray on the inner bit of the shock ?
Also if this does not work do you have an idea of how much the LBS would charge for such a job ??
Thanks.

Clean the shock thoroughly, spray the body of the can making sure some goes up the skirt. I don't know service prices, always done mine myself. Piece of pith if you've got a vice.
