Anyone had any dealings with this company? Reason for asking is that a friend is building up a road bike (Planet X) and ordered a Veloce 09 groupset from them for £345, which seemed like a good deal. This was a week ago and despite them claiming that it's been dispatched, it hasn't shown up. Does this company have a history of this sort of thing (like certain other companies I'm sure we could mention) or are they normally reliable?

Poor guy's gutted. It's his first road bike and he was really looking forward to getting out on it this weekend.

Never had a problem here. At that value they should be able to track progress through the courier.

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming it's a delay in transit. It's just that I've had dealings with one particular bike company that had a tendency to say things had been despatched when they hadn't so I'm a bit cynical sometimes.

It's probably being kicked around the Gloucester Parcel Force depot as I write.

I emailed them with an enquiry a couple of days ago as their prices looked pretty keen - not heard a peep out of them!

He hopes that his credit card will cover it and that he'll be able to recover the money. What a cr*p situation. His inaugural road ride in the Cotswolds at the weekend is now off.

Hi my fist post.

I have ordered a campag Xenon groupset from thse guys. My card has been charged, no goods arrived and cannot seem to get through on the phone or get a reply to my e-mails. Does not look good. Just hope I can get the money back from my card.

I found them a couple of months ago when Googling around looking for prices for ProRace3 tyres.

Their prices were good, undercutting CRC, Ribble, ProBikeKit, etc by a quid or two - but this was suspiciously too good for a company I'd never heard of before.

I paid the bit extra and bought from somewhere else

Well, seen them through Google searches but never ordered from them.

My point is: things can easily get delayed in the post (by up to 2 weeks). I've even had 1st class recorded take 2 weeks to arrive so I'd wait another week before getting heavy with them!

Doesn't sound too promising though, but be polite first, it usually helps.

Oh blimey. I completely forgot about this post.

UPDATE: Shiny Bikes looked in to the missing groupset and it had indeed gone AWOL with the couriers. As they couldn't locate it they sent out another groupset, which arrived promptly.

(bit of a bummer they sent a braze on front mech though. My mate had to order a band-on adapter from Wiggle.)
