Does anyone have guidance as to how to recalibrate the cable adjuster on the gear twist changer on the handlebars?

I have accidentally put the cable out of alinnment by turning the gear change cable's nob instead of the one for the brakes.

line up the coloured dots on the hub unit, on the alfine they're yellow. If I recall, there are calibration points top and bottom so you can fettle your bike either way up.

Remembering to have the gear indicator in 4th when you do so. (like it says in RecordAce's link)

excellent reminder @Tim Hall, I always forget that bit. I've made my hub make some bad noises with that little mental block before now.

I can not find the coloured dots on the hob. I think they may be behind a piece of bent metal. Is that possible?
The Hub is a SP-7R46

Chance is they are covered in muck. This might help you locate them.

Mine doen not look similar to the one in the video. I am beginning to think that mine is a slightly different model. I found 2 red dots underneath and they moved when I adjusted the cable so I assume on this model that is what is adjusted. I have put the 2 dots so that they are 90 deg to the hub. I hope that is the hub adjusted I shall find out tomorrow. Thanks everyone for your help.

I had to take the gear shift to pieces. It turned out there was a bit of plastic wedged inside that was preventing the twist gear from moving back and forth. Has anyone seen a schematic for this particular make of twister?

I am In particular trouble with the grey plastic disk. How is it aligned so that the gears change when I twist the handle? I am not sure if I have the central washers in the right position? I think they are right but....
