My BB was starting to make a complete racket on the non drive side so I looked to get a replacement.

I initially ordered a more standard Shimano Tiagra 4700 Bottom Bracket like so...

But they made a mistake with stock and I ended up ordering a swanky black one....

A Shimano Ultegra 6800 Bottom Bracket which was more £££ (but I got some money off for the hassle)

It looks a lot more snug than the old Tiagra type.

After I ordered I realised from the user feedback that I needed a tool adaptor to go on my BB tool,
(£3.90) negating the discount on the BB!

Anyways, I managed to get the tool adaptor and swap it out.

And today I had a SILENT ride in at last.

That tick, tick, tick with each crank revolution is that little rubber thingy dangling from your pump.

If you bought the BB from a decent shop then it should have come with the requisite adapter. There are some unscrupulous places that remove it from the box then sell it separately
