Shimano TX35d

Hi all, i recently went in to my local bike shop and asked for an 8 speed derailleur and they gave me tx35d, which ive read up is an 6/7. I went back in and he said it works on 8 speed. Does any one know if this is true.

It will work 100%, I've run one on a 8 speed
